Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Most Anticipated Rumors Of 2024

What can we expect from the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2024 and beyond?

As the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) towards the conclusion of phase 5, there is a slew of television shows still waiting for us. Some of these shows are highly anticipated, and others we can do without. Regardless, Marvel enthusiasts are in for a treat in 2024. Over the last few years, Marvel has heavily invested in their television shows as Disney+ is in a race to make their platform profitable. While Disney is still struggling to balance quality and quantity, fans are overloaded with new shows.

While there is many shows that have been confirmed for next year, there is also a few rumours on the horizon. Today, I want to explore that further and look at shows that could be announced next year. It is important to note that some of these are simply fan wishes and internet whispers.

Another Season Of WandaVision

Following the success of “WandaVision,” many fans want the Scarlet Witch’s story to continue. While rumors of another season have been all over the place, fans have been begging for more shows. WandaVision officially made the shift to a full-blown villain in the latest Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness. In the film, she becomes the Scarlet Witch and nearly destroys reality. She also lost her life at the end of the movie. At least, it was implied that she did. However, with the endless possibilities of the Multiverse, she is likely still alive somewhere and still has the opportunity to redeem herself.

Moon Knight Role In the Marvel Cinematic Universe

Moon Knight is another series that fans simply cannot get enough of. While just like WandaVision, it was a miniseries, fans still want more. That is very rare for a Marvel series. Usually, Marvel will give us more of what we do not want. The series that we want to see return does not get a second series. Maybe that is the reason they are so good. They are reduced to a few episodes, which allows the writers to focus on the beginning, middle, and end. Regardless, fans still want to see a second season of Moon Knight in 2024

Is Ms. Marvel Returning To The MCU

Ms. Marvel is yet to be renewed for a second season. While we are still unclear about the future of the show, Iman Vellani remains hopeful that the show will once again return to Disney+. Iman successfully made the transition form the small screen onto the big screen with The Marvels, which is currently in theaters. Although the movie did not live up to expectations or live up exactly, depending on who you ask, this likely is not the last time we have seen Ms.Marvel. There are additional rumors that Marvel is working on a young Avengers. Iman Vellani will be front and center for such a movie.

She-Hulk: Legal Vengeance”: A Legal Comedy with a Green Twist

She-Hulk is the one show that I do not see much fan anticipation for. Ironically it is the one Marvel series that will be getting a second season. However, we should not expect She-Hulk in 2024. The second season will likely only be released in late 2025. The first season of She-Hulk is considered highly underwhelming. It was filled with what many fans call woke pandering. They went out of their way to show how stunning and Brave the Hulk is. Some clips made the rounds early on the internet where She-Hulk was having a conversation with her cousin, the Incredible Hulk.

In these clips, she was talking about how hard her life is, which did not sit well with fans. The twerking did not do much for her character either. Regardless, we will see She-Hulk return at least one more time.

Hawkeye Season 2

Marvel has yet to announce if the show will return to Disney+ for a second season. Despite the uncertainty, most feel confident that the show will return. The Show stars Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop, and she is expected to take the eventual place of her father, Hawkeye, in the Avengers. Either that or she will be getting her spot in the planned young Avengers movie that Marvel might or might not be working on. To many’s surprise, Hawkeye is one of the more critically acclaimed shows on Disney+. Thus, fans will eagerly await the official announcement of season 2.

Will we see the Secret Wars In The Marvel Cinematic Universe?

We are skipping slightly ahead with Avengers Secret War. While we know that this movie will eventually come, it likely won’t be for some time. The next Avengers movie will be The Kang Dynasty, and the MCU is currently setting up that storyline. Secret Wars will likely follow in the year after. While Secret Wars might be a strange inclusion on a list that covers shows we can expect in 2024, the hype is big enough to include it on this list.

Will We See The Return Of Thor On More Time

While Thor will almost certainly return to the MCU, there is a big change that he will be part of a reboot, and it won’t be Chris Hemsworth playing him. Hemsworth himself has commented on his return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, stating that he will return only if he gets to return to his roots. Thor’s last few appearances reduced him to nothing more than a comic act. Obviously, Thor is much more than that. He is considered to be the most powerful Avenger, and having him back in his full glory will be great. Is there a chance that we might get an announcement of Thor returning one more time in 2024? Probably not. However, I will include that I’m on the list anyway because one can still dream.

Blade: The Vampire Hunter’s Revival

Blade is the one confirmation that we do have. While it is still unclear what the timelines will look like, most expect to see the movie in 2024. However, with Marvel pushing all their projects to 2025, we will likely only see Blade then. The film has also been bombarded with bad luck. In early development, it was said that the story made little sense. In fact, it got so bad that they lost lead writers and even their Director. At one point, there were also rumors that we could see a Blade series. However, it is still unclear if that will ever happen.

Guardians of the Galaxy Making Their MCU Return

We know that the current group of actors will not be returning for another “Guardians of the Galaxy ” movie. There is, however, one exception to this. Chris Pratt has, in previous interviews, expressed his desire to continue as Peter Quill. There is a chance that we might see him return in the next Avengers movie without the other Guardians. In the last Guardians of the Galaxy movie, Peter returns to Earth, which sets him in a perfect position to become Star-Lord one more time. We might not get the announcement in 2024, but it might become a surprise in 2026.

Conclusion:

The future of the MCU can still be promising if Marvel plays their cards right. The decision to delay certain future projects is already a step in the right direction. Disney knows that not every movie they release can be a box office failure. At some point, they need to start making profits again and return to their former glory. While they might never reach the heights that they did during the first three phases of Marvel, they might be able to recapture at least some of the hype with a new generation of watchers.

  1. […] Shang Chi had a budget of almost $200 million. As always, there is a simple rule in the box office. You have to at least double or sometimes triple the budget to know what the real cost of the movie is. If a film costs $200 million, it does not include marketing and advertising. Film studios usually at least double their budget for advertising. This means that Shang-Chi cost Disney and Marvel at least $400 million. Sadly, it means that the film likely did not turn over a large profit, if any at all. However, Disney still regards this film as a success due to the Market they are reaching for. As such, we will see a sequel and guess appearances in other movies. […]
